artist books -shelf #3

World Without End, 3" x3" x 3/8" closed, 15" extended. (2000)

Offset printed on Classic Laid Duplex paper, hand cut, scored and folded.

This tunnel book was created for the Canadian Bookbinders & Book Artists Guild Millennium in a Box project. 50 copies were contributed to the project, and the remaining 150 are for sale at $30 each plus applicable tax and shipping.

The side panels are images of the Zodiac, overlaid with text listing dates, since the founding of Rome, on which the end of the world was predicted, along with the type of disaster or name of the predictor. Sheep amble into the swirling tunnel.

On the cover of the wrapper is a quotation from Hamlet; on the back of the tunnel is the artist's New Millennial Rapture text, and the colophon is tucked into the pocket at the back of the tunnel.
